Eligibility for membership fee reduction

Students, doctoral candidates, volunteers, unemployed persons and pensioners are granted a 50% reduction of the membership fee upon presentation of a current certificate valid for at least six months.

The reduction must first be applied for at the Executive Board with corresponding proof (certificate of enrolment, volunteer contract, etc.) and then annually (by 31 January of the respective calendar year) prove that an eligibility still exists.

Please note: It is not possible to set up a SEPA direct debit for reduced membership fees.

In the following fields, please describe your work(s) in the field of provenance research as comprehensively and detailed as possible. Please note that membership of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V. is only possible if you are an employee of a public or publicly funded institution and conduct provenance research as part of your duties, or if you otherwise conduct provenance research on a long-term, full-time basis (see § 4 of the AK Provenienzforschung e.V. statutes).














Admission criteria & declaration of membership

I hereby apply for membership in the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V.

Admission criteria

Members can be:

  • Employees of public or private institutions who are employed primarily in an academic capacity or in a comparable position in the field of provenance research.
  • Students, doctoral students and volunteers who are active in the field of provenance research in the context of research projects, their master’s thesis topic, dissertation topic or their training. Enrollment in a relevant degree program is not a sufficient admission criterion.
  • Freelancers and self-employed individuals who work primarily in the field of provenance research.
  • Each application for membership is reviewed individually by all five board members.

Each member accepts the following ( scholarly ) guidelines:

  • Provenance researchers cooperate with provenance researchers;
  • Providing and updating their own contact details and portrait (research focus, current and previous activities in the field of provenance research);
  • Publication of research results, if possible;
  • Announcement of own new publications as soon as they are publicly available;
  • In conducting provenance research and publishing provenances, members commit themselves to the general scientific standards of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V., the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the ICOM Code of Ethics. In particular, when publishing provenances, members recognize the following scholarly standards, which include the provision of source documents, null documents, source locations, the naming of all owners, as well as the prior inspection of the sources, if possible, in the original. The currently valid standards are updated regularly and can be viewed on the website of the Arbeitskreis.

Membership fee

The fee for membership is 60,00 € annually and must be paid by 31st January of the current year, for new members at the latest one month after admission.
Students, doctoral candidates, volunteers, unemployed persons and pensioners are granted a 50% reduction of the membership fee upon presentation of a current certificate valid for at least six months.

Cancellation

Membership shall be terminated by written notice of resignation no later than three months before the end of the business year (notice period up to and including 30 September). The date of the postmark is applicable.
