Von Website MdbK. "Jüdische Leipziger Bürger*innen prägten mit ihrem zivilgesellschaftlichen und kulturellen Engagement seit dem 19. Jahrhundert die Stadt und das MdbK maßgeblich – bis sie im Nationalsozialismus entrechtet, verfolgt, vertrieben, ausgeraubt und ermordet wurden. Das Wissen um ihr Wirken und ihre Kunstsammlungen ist heute weitgehend verloren. Das MdbK will die Namen und Geschichten von wegweisenden Leipziger jüdischen Akteur*innen in das öffentliche Bewusstsein und das Museum zurückbringen. Gemeinsam mit der Künstlerin Shlomit Lehavi und der Publizistin Sharon Adler begab es sich dafür seit 2024 auf Spurensuche, um vergessene und ausgelöschte Verbindungen wieder sichtbar zu machen."
